The public was genuinely surprised by the recent announcements made by Samsung and Huawei – major smartphone manufacturers who unveiled their plans to release foldable phone models. Even TCL (the company behind BlackBerry and Alcatel) released hints about potential foldable phone designs and concepts. However, there is one sleeping giant that the public seems to forget – Motorola, the company behind one of the most iconic foldable phones from the past.
Rumors about a new Motorola Razr foldable phone have been around for a while and, understandably, the interest in this topic reached a new peak when the Mate X and Galaxy Fold were displayed. Motorola already confirmed that a new foldable phone is in the works, but they did neither deny nor confirm if it will be inspired by the legendary Razr model.
The public has been digging into Motorola’s patents, and they managed to uncover a patent filing that appears to depict a Motorola phone that mimics the design of the Razr. Soon after this, an online leak claimed to contain the specifications of the new Motorola Razr foldable phone- a 6.2” display with 2,142x876px resolution, a Snapdragon 710 processor, 4/6 GB RAM, 64/128GB storage, and a 2,730mAh battery.
Smartphone enthusiasts are drooling over the idea of a new Motorola Razr foldable phone, but we are yet to see whether this will become a thing or not. One thing is for sure – it would be foolish by Motorola not to take advantage of the speculations around a new Motorola Razr model.
